How to Play
- 1.
Each player owns the six pits on their side of the board and the store on their right.
- 2.
On your turn, scoop every stone from one of your pits and sow them one per pit, counterclockwise, into your own store as you pass it — but never into your opponent's store.
- 3.
Land the last stone in your store and you take another turn. Land it in an empty pit on your side and you capture that stone plus everything in the pit directly across.
- 4.
When one side's pits are all empty the game ends: the other player sweeps their remaining stones into their store, and the higher store wins.
About Daily Mancala
Mancala is one of the oldest board games in the world: two rows of pits, a store on each end, and a simple loop of scooping up stones and sowing them one at a time around the board. Daily Mancala uses the popular Kalah rules — the version most US players grew up with. Mancala is actually a family of games, and other variants such as Oware or Congkak use different capture and endgame rules, so if you learned on a wooden two-row board with six pits per side, this is almost certainly the game you know.
You can play three ways. Face the computer at Easy, Medium, or Hard — the harder levels genuinely search deeper rather than cheating, so a win at Hard means you out-planned it. Pass the device to a friend for a local two-player match. Or take on the daily challenge: one shared setup per day, the same opponent and starting side for every player in the world, with a streak to protect and a result you can share spoiler-free.
Everything runs in your browser and everything is free. There is no account to create, no coin economy, and no interstitial between you and a rematch. Games save automatically, so you can close the tab mid-match and pick the same board up later.
